5 Ways to Stay (Digitally) Social

COVID-19 times call for virtual measures!

Having social interactions is extremely important for your overall well-being. With COVID-19 putting a wrench in all of our social plans, we have a few digital twists on ways you can stay social!

1. Catch Up Over Video Chat

Schedule time with family or friends to catch up. Make a plan, send out invites, get dressed up... Have fun with it! These visits can happen over dinner, coffee, happy hour or something else you dream up and host on your platform of choice (Zoom, Skype, Facetime, etc.)!

2. Virtual Game Night

Host a virtual game night over Zoom, Skype Facetime, etc. The old-fashioned way OR use an app such as Houseparty*, which has multiple games you can play against family!

*Note: The age rating for this app is 12 years +

3. Live Stream a Fitness Class

Daily exercise is important for overall well-being. Fitness classes also bring the social aspect to your workout. With gyms and fitness classes currently being limited or nonexistent due to COVID-19 regulations, you need to get creative when it comes to supporting your mental and physical well-being. How do you do that, you ask? Live Stream a fitness class. Check to see if there are digital class options for this locally that you can support; if not, there are plenty of resources online depending on the type of fitness class you want to take!

4.  Join a Virtual Tour

Virtual tours have taken off in popularity lately with the lack of travel opportunities. Why not take a virtual trip around the world?

With a simple “Virtual Tours” Google search, discover so many more!

5. Virtual Watch Party

Before COVID-19 times, did you get together with friends to watch your favourite reality show or watch the big game? You still can... virtually! Set the date and time, send your invites out, get your favourite snacks and watch your show on TV with your group on Zoom, Skype, Facetime, etc. Share your thoughts on the show or game in real-time, just as you would if they were sitting beside you in your living room!
